I have heard from multiple sources that D2 Cal State San Marcos intends to name UC San Diego assistant Nick Booker as their new head men’s basketball coach.

Booker joined the Tritons staff in 2020 after a three year stint as the associate head coach at Eastern Washington. The coaching veteran has also served as the Director of Basketball Operations at his alma mater Davidson, and also spent six seasons on the staff at UC Irvine.

Booker will replace B.J. Foster, who became the head coach at D2 Southern Nazarene University back on April 11th.

An official announcement is expected within the next week or so.
