Adam Eberhard joins the coaching staff at the University of Illinois Springfield after a year at Carson-Newman University and a year on Rick Barnes’ staff at Tennessee.
Prior to his coaching career, Eberhard spent two seasons playing professionally in Germany (2019-20) and Luxembourg (2020-21).
A native of Evansville, Ind. where he attended Reitz Memorial High School, Eberhard finished his four-year collegiate career as one of the most decorated players in program history at former GLVC member, Bellarmine (2015-19).
“Adam has had a tremendous basketball career as a player and a coach. He has been a part of championship programs at Bellarmine and Tennessee. We are excited for him to show our guys what it takes to achieve at that level.”
The 6-8 forward was a three-time All-American at Bellarmine and concluded his career with the fourth most points (1,860) and third-most assists (493) in program history. In 131 career games, he made 99 starts while averaging 14.2 points, 5.9 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game.
“I’m excited to get back to the GLVC and join Coach Brock at UIS. I’ve admired how Coach Brock has turned the program around and can’t wait to get started with him and the guys this summer.”
Eberhard joins UIS for 2023-24 season. The Prairie Stars return four starters from last year’s best season in UIS history, including 1st team all-GLVC Jack Weber and 2nd team all-GLVC Max Kunnert.
