Following-up on something that I mentioned in today’s DAILY DIRT…
I can confirm that D3 Berea College (KY) has opened as head coach John Hemenway has stepped down.
Hemenway had been at Berea for the past 12 seasons where he posted a 145-164 (.469) record. His best season came in 2014-15, when he led his team to a 20-6 record. Before becoming a full-time NCAA D3 member, Hemenway led the Mountaineers to three USCAA National Tournaments and twice advanced to the USCAA national semi-finals.
Prior to his time at Berea, Hemenway served as the head coach at NAIA Dakota Wesleyan, where he put together a 115-49 (.701) mark in his five seasons. He has also worked as an assistant at University of South Dakota (2002-05), Chaminade University (2000-02) and Morningside College (1997-00).
An official announcement is expected later today.
