I have heard from multiple sources that D3 Curry College (MA) will hire Wentworth Institute of Technology (MA) assistant Phil Alibrandi as their new head men’s basketball coach.

Prior to his time at Wentworth, Alibrandi spent three seasons as an assistant at Curry. He also worked as an assistant at Emerson College, and his alma mater Regis College.

As a player at Regis, he was a four-year starter and three-year captain. He became just the second player in the school’s men’s basketball history to score at least 1,000 career points (1,006).

Alibrandi will have his work cut out for him with this part-time job. The Colonels have struggled to an 8-125 (.060) overall record since the 2015-16 season.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
