I can confirm that D3 Macalester College will hire Dartmouth assistant Rich Glesmann as their new head men’s basketball coach. He will replace Abe Woldeslassie who became an assistant at Denver earlier this spring.
Last season was Glesmann’s first as with the Big Green after a seven year run as a head coach in Japan’s B-League. Prior to his time overseas, Glesmann spent five seasons as an assistant at Duquesne, and six seasons on the staff at LIU-Brooklyn.
The coaching veteran does have familiarity with the D3 level as he played collegiately Emerson College where he was a three-year starter and team captain.
More on this move once it’s made official.
