Following-up on my TWEET from last night…I have heard from multiple sources that University of Southern Maine head men’s basketball coach Karl Henrikson has told his team that he is retiring.

Henrickson has spent the past eighteen seasons at his alma mater USM, where he went 152-294 (.341). The state of Maine coaching veteran also spent nine years as the head coach at Maine Presque Isle (1989-1998), and four seasons at then prep power house Maine Central Institute. Hendrickson also worked at Southern Maine CC, as well as multiple high schools in the state.

An official announcement is expected early this week.
