Delaware Valley University Executive Director of Athletics Dave Duda has announced the hiring of Mike Doyle as the next head coach of the Aggies men’s basketball program.
Doyle joins the Aggies after serving on the coaching staff at La Salle University since 2019, most recently as an assistant coach. During his time with the Explorers, Doyle was heavily involved in scouting, recruiting, player development, practice planning, and game strategy while also overseeing budgeting and day-to-day program operations.
“Mike comes from a fantastic basketball pedigree, with both his father and grandfather being highly successful and well respected members of the Philadelphia Basketball Community,” said Duda. “He is mature beyond his years, while possessing a clear vision and direction for our Men’s Basketball program. He is a passionate leader, who will not only add to our basketball program, but will also be a campus and community asset as well. I look forward to welcoming Mike to our staff, and am excited to see him execute his leadership plan in working with our student athletes.”
As an assistant coach at La Salle, Doyle played a key role in mentoring student-athletes academically and athletically while helping coordinate recruiting efforts through both high school and transfer portal evaluations. Prior to being elevated to assistant coach in 2024, Doyle spent three seasons as Director of Basketball Operations and two years as a graduate assistant with the Explorers program.
“I want to thank Dave Duda, our administration, and the entire Delaware Valley community for trusting me to lead this program,” Doyle said. “It was clear to me the minute I stepped foot on campus that this University is a special place with incredible people. Having the chance to fulfill my dream of being a head coach at Delaware Valley is extremely humbling. I can’t wait to get to work building meaningful cross-campus relationships as well as maximizing our student-athletes’ potential.”
In his role as Director of Basketball Operations, Doyle managed team travel, scheduling, budgeting, and logistics while also assisting with academics, social media coordination, and analytics. Throughout his time at La Salle, he gained extensive experience with film breakdown, scouting preparation, and player skill development.
Doyle also serves as the director of the Mike Doyle Jr. Basketball Camp, overseeing all aspects of camp operations, staffing, budgeting, and programming.
A native of Media, Pennsylvania, Doyle earned his master’s degree in education from La Salle University in 2021 after graduating summa cum laude from Cabrini University in 2019 with a degree in history and education. Doyle was a four-year captain for the Cavaliers men’s basketball program and was recognized on the CSAC All-Academic and All-Sportsmanship teams.
Doyle takes over for Muhamadou Kaba, who resigned after five seasons to accept an assistant coaching position at Lafayette College. Kaba led the Aggies to 60 victories, two MAC Freedom postseason appearances, and a historic 2024-25 season that saw Delaware Valley capture its fourth MAC Freedom Championship and earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
