Daily Dirt – 3/5/19

A few things to kick off what will be a busy week…

  • I have heard from great sources that Stetson will officially open later this week. The Hatters wrapped up their 2018-19 season with a 7-24 (3-13 ASUN) record, and did not make it to the ASUN Tournament. It’s been a tough go for Corey Williams in his six seasons at Stetson as he’s gone 58-133 during his tenure. More when this is made official.
  • I have heard from multiple sources that Jim Glash is out as the head coach at DII Missouri S&T. Glash’s Miners struggled to a 5-21 (3-15 GLVC) record this past season. During his nine years at MS&T, he tallied a 77-186 mark. It sounds like an official announcement will be made in the next few days.
  • It sounds like the final group at DII Lander University (SC) includes: Grant Leonard – associate head coach, Queens University of Charlotte; Drew Richard – associate head coach, UNC Pembroke, and a current head coach in their Lander’s conference (Peach Belt). This one could be wrapped up shortly.
  • Paul McDonald has retired after 26 seasons as the head coach at JUCO Vermilion College (MN). I have heard from a great source that the leader to replace him is current assistant coach Reed Pedersen. The Ely, MN native has been on McDonald’s staff for the past two seasons. More on this as I hear it.
