Daily Dirt – 4/11/14

Crazy day here – big-time recruit on campus. Here are a few things while my guy sits in on a class…

• Two names that I’ve heard that may be involved with assistant spots at Bowling Green are Indiana State assistant Dave Ragland and West Alabama head coach Mark Downey. Ragland has been at ISU for four seasons, and is the former head coach at Vincennes (IN) College. Downey just completed his first year at West Alabama. He worked for new BGSU head coach Chris Jans in 1998-99 at Independence CC.

• Coastal Carolina assistant Mamadou N’Diaye’s name has come up surround assistant vacancies at Georgia Tech and Memphis. N’Diaye played at Auburn for current Coastal Carolina head coach Cliff Ellis. He also played in the NBA for Dallas Mavericks, Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors.

• I’ve heard that Williston State (SD) head coach Eric Peterson could be involved with an assistant spot at South Dakota. He just wrapped up his second season at WSC – he also serves as the athletic director there.

• I’ve got some names for Winston-Salem State, West Texas A&M, and Western State Colorado – will do my best to get those up over the next few days…
