On the run today – just a few quick things…

The search at Coppin State is finally making some progress. It sounds like on campus interviews are underway this week. Two names that I have heard are DePaul assistant Bino Ranson and James Madison assistant Xavier Joyner. Both obviously have strong DMV ties – Ranson was an assistant at Maryland for 11 seasons, and Joyner was the head coach at both Prince George’s Community College and Montgomery College Germantown. They also have strong AAU ties to the area, as Ranson founded Team Baltimore, and Joyner worked for Washington D.C.’s Nike Team Takeover. More on this one as I hear it.

I have heard that the search at UIW is expected to be wrapped up in the next day or two. Sounds like my list from last week is still good. Hope to have the final name soon.

With Seattle Pacific head coach Grant Leep on the way to Seattle as an assistant (D2 DIRT), many are saying that current SPU assistant coach Keffrey Fazio is the leader to replace him. Fazio has been on Leep’s staff for the past four seasons, and was the head coach at West Seattle High School for six seasons before that.
