Daily Dirt – 4/9/20

Two quick things…

  • Word on the street is that Austin Peay assistant Sergio Rouco is headed to Samford. Rouco is the former head coach at Florida International, who has also been an assistant at Ole Miss, South Florida, and UTEP. He has been at Austin Peay since 2017. A lot of chatter that he may not be the only APSU assistant on the move. More on this as I hear it.

  • It sounds like the search at D3 University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is down to 4, with interviews wrapping up today (contrary to my tweet yesterday saying the search was done). The leader here according to multiple sources is a current head coach from the conference, but the final group is really strong . I’ve heard that former Angelo State head coach Joe Esposito is also in the mix. In addition to his time as a D2 head coach, Esposito also worked at the HM level at UNLV, Minnesota, Texas Tech, and Memphis. An official announcement is expected next week.
