DI Assistants on the Move: Second Edition

Last week, I published a list of DI assistants on the move.  This past weekend has been busy, so here’s the second edition:

Boise State: Lost Danny Henderson to Oklahoma State last week.  Head coach Leon Rice will replace him with Nebraska assistant Phil Beckner. Last season was Beckner’s first as a Cornhusker, he has also been an assistant at Weber State and in the D-League.

Columbia: NJIT assistant coach Jesse Agel will be returning to the Ivy league as he joins Jim Engles at Columbia. Agel is the former head coach at Brown, and was a long-time assistant to Tom Brennan at Vermont.

Nevada: Did not renew the contacts of Jermaine Kimbrough and Jay Morris, added Yann Hufnagel and Ron Dupree. Full story can be found here: Nevada Staff Update

Rutgers: Jay Young will be following Steve Pikiell to Rutgers after missing out on head coaching gigs at Central Connecticut and Stony Brook.  He had served on Pikiell’s staff at SBU for the past 11-seasons.

Texas A&M: Ulric Maligi will join Billy Kennedy’s staff replacing Rick Stansbury who became the head coach at WKU last month.  Most recently, Maligi served as the national scouting director for John Lucas Enterprises.  He worked for Larry Brown at SMU before that.

UTRGV: New UTRGV head coach Lew Hill will retain assistant coach Jai Steadman.  The veteran Steadman joined Dan Hipsher’s staff at UTRGV in 2014.  He has had multiple college stops, and was also a D-League assistant coach.
