Daily Dirt – 4/7/17

A few quick things that I’ve heard…

  • Interesting new name that I’ve heard at Furman is Marquette assistant Chris Carrawell. The former Duke standout has been on Steve Wojciechowski’s staff for the past three seasons. After graduating, the 2000 ACC Player of the Year spent time overseas before returning to Duke where he worked in various administrative roles from 2008-11.
  • Back on March 28th, I published the four finalists at NAIA Mayville State (Mayville State finalists). Multiple sources are now telling me that Ridgewater CC head coach Darren Tighe is the leader here, and an official announcement is expected shortly. Tighe has been the head coach at Ridgewater since 2014. He has compiled a 48-34 overall record while winning 17+ games in each of the past two seasons.
  • Last week, I mentioned some names at DIII Muhlenburg College (Daily Dirt – 3/31). I have now heard that there is a new horse in the race – Amherst College assistant coach Kevin Hopkins. Sounds like he is now the leader here and that this search could be wrapped up any day.
  • It sounds like DII Tusculum has completed their on-campus interviews and a decision is expected early next week. More on this as I hear it.
  • DIII Shenandoah is moving along in their search. I have heard that phone interviews are done, and on-campus interviews begin next week. I should have some names here shortly.
