Here’s the Friday "dirt"…
• The search at Midland College (TX) is in the final stages. I have heard that all the interviews are complete and the announcement is expected next week. Some of the names that I have heard surrounding the search are: Matt Cross (Talladega College head coach), Jordan Dreiling (Central Arizona head coach), James Miller (New Mexico JC head coach), Zach Janus (Odessa College assistant coach), and Jeff Mailhot (Midland College assistant coach). More on this next week when the announcement is made.
• I mentioned last night that I had heard Miami DBO Mike Summey was involved with a spot at St. Francis (PA) – I can now confirm that it is a done deal. Summey has been named as the associate head coach there. I’ll pass along the official announcement once it is released.
• Speaking of Miami…I have heard that Hurricanes graduate assistant Kevin Noon is also departing and will become the DBO at Maryland Baltimore County. Noon is a former walk-on at Rider.
• Two separate sources have told me that Mike Worley will become the DBO at Troy for new head coach Phil Cunningham. Worley has been an assistant at Kilgore College (TX) for the past three seasons.
