Thursday’s DIRT….

• I have heard that Lennie Acuff will round out his new staff at Lipscomb with Kevin Carroll and Tyler Murray. Carroll spent the past two seasons as an assistant at VMI and was the head coach at DII Maryville University before that. Murray was most recently on the staff at Furman and was also a DII head coach, serving at Shorter University. Acuff has also retained assistant coach Roger Idstrom and DBO Adam Notteboom.

• It sounds like former Gannon University head coach John Reilly is the leader at DII Christian Brothers University. Reilly went 242-162 in his 13 seasons at Gannon. He was also the head coach at Brescia University and holds a career record of 474-317. CBU is looking to replace long-time head coach Mike Nienaber who became the head coach at Delta State earlier this month.

• NJCAA DII National Champion Kirkwood CC has found their new coach – it’s a current JUCO head coach. More on this one shortly…

• Phone interviews at DIII Nichols College start next week. It sounds like a bunch of guys with New England ties are involved here, as well as two DI assistants. More as I hear it.
