A few things to wrap-up the week…
I have heard that Nick Bowman will be hired as an assistant at New Orleans. Bowman had been at Nicholls State since 2018 – first as an assistant, and was later promoted to Associate Head Coach. He also spent three years as Clemson’s director of recruiting, and worked in administrative roles at Tennessee, and EKU.
Chris Foss has departed the Portland State coaching staff. He had been with the Vikings since 2021, and was an assistant at D2 Northwest Nazarene University before that. No word yet on his next landing spot.
I can confirm that Towson has an open assistant spot on their men’s basketball staff. Stay tuned for more on this one…
It sounds like the search at D3 SUNY Cortland is making progress. I have heard that they have narrowed it down to 4-5 candidates. Names that I have heard include two New York D3 head coaches, a D3 head coach from the midwest, a JUCO head coach from the Northeast, and most likely a D3 assistant from the UAA. More on this soon.
Interviews began yesterday, and will run through Tuesday at NJCAA D1 Yavapai College. It sounds like there are 3-5 finalists. The names that I have heard are all current JUCO head coaches. Should know more shortly.
