A few quick hitters to start the week…
- Boston University head coach Joe Jones is on the hunt for an assistant to replace Shaun Morris who joined Baker Dunleavy’s staff at Quinnipiac earlier this spring. The name that I keep hearing here is former LIU head coach Jack Perri. He has New England ties, having played and coached at Bentley College (MA), and he also served as the head coach at DIII Rhode Island College (2004-05). More on this as I hear it.
- I’ve talked about the search at Johns Hopkins a bunch of times over the past month. I can now confirm that an administrative staffer from a Pac-12 school, and a Patriot League assistant have interviewed. They join the four guys that I mentioned back on 4/24 as the coaches to receive on-campus interviews.
- I have heard from a great source that the leaders for the vacancy at Jones County JC (MS) are: Yusef Fitzgerald (DBO Iona -former JCJC assistant, Mississippi native), Jason Harrison (assistant coach Holmes CC (MS) – played at Ole Miss with former JCJC head coach Rahim Lockhart), Kyle Roane (DBO Southern Mississippi – former head coach JCJC – 2006-08), and Randy Bolden (assistant coach Hinds CC (MS)). No word yet on when a hire will be made.
