Daily Dirt – 6/16/20

Today’s edition of the Daily Dirt…

Bowling Green assistant Anthony Stacey is headed to the high school level, and will become the head coach at Whitmer HS (OH) as first reported by the Toledo Blade. Stacey, the all-time leading scorer at BGSU, has been on Michael Huger’s staff since 2015. He had previously served as a HS coach in Ohio before returning to his alma mater. The hiring is still pending board approval.

Dalonte Hill’s name keeps popping up at South Carolina. The current Southern Miss assistant had previously worked for Frank Martin at Kansas State. He’s also been at Maryland, Austin Peay, and Charlotte. USC is currently looking to replace Perry Clark who retired back on 6/1.

Keep an eye on the basketball staff at Troy…

Appalachian State’s Jason Allison has shifted roles and has become the interim head golf coach for the Mountaineers. Allison has been on the ASU basketball staff for the past six season, serving as an assistant coach and most recently as the special assistant to the head coach. He has experience as a golf coach, having been the head coach at both Lees-McRae College (NC) and King College (TN).

I have heard that Tyler Janota, the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for Men’s Basketball at The University of Texas, will be joining Jason Shay’s staff at East Tennessee State University as the Director of Basketball Sports Performance. Janota has been with Shaka Smart at Texas for the past three seasons.

Bucky McMillan has worked quickly to fill the vacancy on his staff at Samford. The spot opened when Jake Headrick got out of the business a few weeks ago. Waiting on the ink to dry on this one and will roll with it shortly.

It seems like the job market is beginning to pick up some steam over the past week or so (busiest our jobs department has been since the pandemic shut everything down in March). Check out our JOBS SECTION for the latest openings.
