I have heard from a great source that UC Riverside will add Rob Jones as an assistant basketball coach. Jones has most recently served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Men’s Basketball at his alma mater Saint Mary’s (CA). He will replace Wayne Hunter, who became the recruiting coordinator at Washington State.

Word on the street is that former Kansas walk-on Brad Witherspoon is the leader for the vacant head coach spot at NJCAA D1 Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa. Witherspoon had spent the past four seasons as an assistant at NJCAA Barton College (KS), and has also worked at Doane University, Culver-Stockton College, and John Wood CC.

I’ve heard from multiple sources that NCAA D3 Eastern Nazarene College has found their new head coach. Sounds like it will be a current D3 assistant, with an announcement coming as early as this week. More soon…

I have heard that phone interviews at D3 Pitt Greensburg are wrapping up this week. Some names that I’ve heard are: Chris Klimchock (assistant coach Penn State Behrend), Jeff Frank (assistant coach Penn State Harrisburg), Glenn Gutierrez (former head coach Washington & Jefferson College), Zack Stitt (assistant coach Geneva College), and a current D3 head coach who is a UPG alum.

Matt Bolton – Leaving Cazenovia College (NY), headed to College of the Ozarks (MO).

Aaron Levin – Leaving Grinnell College (IA), headed to Illinois Wesleyan.

Ethan Kahn – Former manager at Northern Arizona, headed to Catawba College (NC) as DBO and Video Coordinator.

Tom Bell – Resigned as an assistant at SUNY New Paltz, destination TBD.
