Today’s Daily Dirt…

• I have heard that the search for an assistant at Presbyterian has been narrowed to four.  Among the group is a DI video coordinator (believed to be the leader), a former DI operations guy, and two other assistant coaches.  Sounds like the official word will come any day.  I’ll go with the names once my source comes off of double secret probation!

• Back on May 29th, I listed the three finalists for the St. Leo (FL) job.  I have now heard from multiple sources that the job has been offered to USC Aiken head coach Vince Alexander.  More on this as it becomes official.

• Another follow-up…on May 30th, I mentioned the three finalists for the Butler CC (KS) job.  I have now heard that the job has come down to two Dodge City CC head coach Kyle Campbell and former UWGB assistant Brian Barone.  It also sounds like an offer has been made – stay tuned for more on this one.

• I have heard that the search at NCAA DIII SUNY Purchase is in its final stages.  Apparently there were close to 150 applicants for the position including D1/D2/D3 assistants, and some former D2/D3 head coaches and a few NY area JUCO coaches.   From this group, 15 received phone interviews, and the final 4-5 candidates were brought to campus.  I have heard that the official announcement could come either Friday of this week, or Monday of next week.

• Another small college on the hunt….I have heard that Columbia State CC (TN) had close to 100 applicants for their vacancy.  Nine of them were interviewed on campus last week.  It sounds like an announcement here in coming shortly.

• I can confirm that NJCAA Montgomery College (MD) has hired Keith Byrd as their new head coach.  He is a MC alum who had been an assistant at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School (MD).
