Daily Dirt – 7/16/15

A bunch of things that I’ve heard…

  • Eastern Wyoming has named Neal Sherbeyn as the interim head coach.  He replaces Casey Jones who recently resigned.  Sherbeyn spent last season as an assistant for the women’s team at EWC.
  • Dixie State assistant Ryan Sanchez has resigned to pursue opportunities outside of basketball.  He played at Dixie State for three years, and had been an assistant there for the past six seasons.
  • Interviews to replace Andy Sachs at Bethany (WVa.) are underway.  Phone interviews are being conducted this week, and candidates will be brought to campus next week.  Sachs became the head coach at Salisbury (MD) last month.
  • The search at USC-Aiken is winding down, with an decision expected by Monday.  What was once a four horse race is apparently now down to three.  More on this later…
  • Tommy Yancey has become an assistant at Coastal Georgia.  Yancey was most recently a HS coach in Georgia – before that he was an assistant at St. Johns River State College (FL).
  • I have heard that Tim Lubke will be headed to Northeast CC (NE) as an assistant.  He just wrapped up his playing career at Minnesota Crookston.
