Daily Dirt – 7/25/17

Today’s dirt…

  • Cal State Bakersfield assistant JD Pollock will become an assistant coach at CSU Dominguez Hills. He had been on Rod Barnes’ staff at CSUB since 2014, working first as the DBO before being promoted to assistant coach prior to last season. Word on the street is that his wife is a professional beach volleyball player, and they wanted to live in Redondo Beach.

  • I have heard that former Notre Dame guard Joey Brooks has accepted a graduate assistant spot at Purdue. Brooks is a 2013 ND grad who has most recently been working in the private sector in his hometown of Houston.

  • I can confirm that Dom Parker has been named as an assistant coach at Christopher Newport University (VA). Parker had been an assistant at Shenandoah University (VA) since 2015, and was on the staff at Richard Bland College (VA) before that.

  • Western Connecticut State’s Jason Harlow will remain as the interim head coach for one more season. He took over on an interim basis for long-time head coach Bob Campbell prior to last season. Budget issues at WestConn forced the school to suspend the search earlier this spring, and they will now wait one more year before opening up the position again.

  • I can confirm that Emerson College (MA) head coach Billy Curley will hire Colin Halpin as an assistant coach. Halpin had previously served as an assistant at his alma mater Suffolk University where he was a 1,000 point scored.

  • I have heard that Richard Jackson will become an assistant coach at East Texas. Jackson was most recently a graduate assistant coach at Lubbock Christian University, where he began his career as a student assistant
