Daily Dirt – 8/22/14

Some quick things that I’ve heard. Gotta spend the rest of the day getting ready for my fantasy football draft tomorrow! Sitting on the #1 pick (it’s a keeper league, so it’s really the first pick of the 4th round). Here’s what I’ve got…

• I have heard from a very good source that the search to replace Vincent Metcalf as the head coach at The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma is down to three candidates. They are: Rick McCormick (former head coach Union College, former DI assistant, current owner of Southwest Hoops Basketball), Bill Foy (former head coach Richland College, former assistant at North Texas), and Kyle Blankenship (head coach LSU-Shreveport). It sounds like this could be wrapped up by early next week.

• It sounds like Garden County CC assistant Cole Dewey has accepted an assistant spot at South Plains College. Dewey joined the GCCC staff last season and was a GA at his alma mate Campbell before that.

• I have heard that former Robert Morris standout Jimmy Langhurst will become an assistant at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Langhurst is a 2010 RMU grad who spent this past summer as an intern for the Hoop Group.
