A few things that I’ve heard…

I mentioned back on 8/12 that San Diego State’s Jay Morris was headed to USC. While that has not been officially announced yet, it looks like his replacement at San Diego State is set. It sounds like Pacific assistant JayDee Luster has been hired by SDSU. Luster had been on Damon Stoudamire’s staff for the the past five seasons, and was retained when Leonard Perry took over this summer. An official announcement is expected shortly.

I have heard from multiple sources that Vermont associate head coach Kyle Cieplicki is headed to Pitt in an administrative role. The ’08 Vermont alum has been on the Catamounts staff since 2011, and had also spent two seasons as an assistant at Brown.

A current D3 head coach is currently the leader to become the new head coach at Southern Maine, and may have already been offered the job. More on this one soon…

It sounds like interviews for the new head coach at D3 Mount Aloysius College (PA) wrapped up last week. The names that I’ve heard there are: Oberlin College assistant Jalen Goodwin, Carnegie Melon assistant David Sloan, a current D3 head coach, and a current HS from the area. This one should be done any day now.

D3 SUNY Oneonta assistant Mike Freilich has departed the staff and will become an assistant at D3 Hartwick College. Freilich had been at Oneonta since 2018, and was a GA at LaGrange College (GA) before that. He also spent four seasons as an assistant at Eastern Connecticut.

Robb Floco has stepped down as the head coach at American Indian College has become the associate head coach at South Mountain Community College (AZ). South Mountain has also added Mychael Broom as an assistant coach.

Mendel Folefac has been added as a graduate assistant at D2 Newman University (KS). He had most recently been a manager at UT-Arlington.
