Today’s Daily Dirt…

Horace Owens, Vernon Dupree, and Shadid Perkins will make up Stan Waterman’s new staff at Delaware State. Owens was a long-time assistant at La Salle. Dupree had spent the past 11-seasons as an assistant at D2 Wilmington University (DE). Perkins had been on Waterman’s staff at the Sanford School (DE) since 2015.

There’s been a coaching change at NAIA Presentation College (SD). Alex Tyrrell, who had been the Saints head coach for the past two seasons has resigned, and will enter the private sector. He will be replaced by former Oklahoma City U head coach Stan Holt. The former USC staffer has also been the head coach at Langston University, where he went 107-50 during his tenure.

NJCAA D2 Garrett College (MD) head coach Dennis Gibson has stepped away. The long-time head coach had over 700 wins during his tenure at the college.

Al Modrejewski will join the staff at D2 Bluefield State (WVa). The veteran assistant was most recently an assistant at D3 SUNY Plattsburgh, and had spent 20 years as an assistant at D2 Clarion University before that.

The search at D3 Curry College (MA) is down to three. The names that I have heard are: current Curry assistant Joe Reedy, Wentworth assistant Phil Alibrandi (a former Curry assistant), and Salem State assistant Brian Caira. They are all in the hunt to replace former head coach Joe Busacca, who became an assistant at Amherst earlier this summer. Curry is still a part-time job.

Sounds like three original finalists all passed on D3 Bard College. Interviews with the next group are winding down now.

I’ve heard that on-campus interviews are underway at D3 Southern Maine. No legit names yet, but I am hearing that one current head coach in their conference (Little East) is involved.
