Here some things that I’ve heard over the past few days….

From multiple sources….former Seton Hall assistant Dermon Player has been offered the Union County College job. Player has a ton of connections in the NY/NJ area. He has also worked on the staff at St. John’s and spent time with some big-time AAU programs (NY Metro Hawks and Riverside Church). Player has most recently worked at NIA Prep (NJ).

I posted earlier today in the news section that Jamie Snyder-Fair has been promoted at Yale (http://hoopdirt.com/news/a423b66e/yale-promotes-assistant/…). According to my source, his replacement as the volunteer assistant has already been chosen. My guy tells me that the choice is Cardinal Hayes HS (NY) assistant coach Justin Simon. He is a 2004 Yale grad who has spent time in the financial world. The official announcement is expected shortly.

Wanted to pass on a hiring that I missed.…John Anthony Anglin was recently hired as the assistant director of basketball operations at UTEP. He is a 2010 graduate of LSU Shreveport where he was a two-time Academic All-Conference recipient.
