Daily Dirt II – 4/9/15

Busy day so far today – here is round 2 of the Daily Dirt…

  • I have heard from a good source that Columbia State CC (TN) head coach Brian Collins is in the mix to join Steve Forbes staff at East Tennessee State.  Collins spent three seasons as an assistant at Cumberland University (TN), and was also an administrative staffer at Tennessee State.  He was a 1,000 point scorer at Belmont, and was drafted by the D-League in 2006.
  • I mentioned in the “Daily Dirt” earlier today the Iowa Energy head coach Bob Donewald, Jr. was believed to be involved with the job at Indian Hills CC (IA).  I have now heard from a great source that if he doesn’t return to the Energy, that he will wind up as an NBA assistant.  Sounds like he was also involved in a low major gig this year, but will stay in the professional ranks.
  • I have now heard from multiple sources that Palm Beach State’s Martin McCann has finally shed the interim title, and is now officially the head coach.  This past season as the interim head coach, he led PBSC to a 20-10 record.
