Daily Dirt – 4/9/15

Still kicking the bugs out of the new site.  Seems like we’re all good now!  Here are a bunch of things that I’ve heard…

  • I can confirm that New Mexico assistant Drew Adams is departing to join Brian Wardle’s new staff at Bradley.  Adams had been at New Mexico for the past four seasons, and worked at Tennessee as a student before that.
  • Word is that NC Central assistant Brian Burg is headed to Arkansas Little Rock where he will  join new head coach Chris Beard’s staff.  Burg joined the NCCU staff in 2013 after spending four seasons at Campbell.  He has also worked at Middle Tennessee State and Western Texas.
  • I can now confirm that Winston-Salem State assistant Andre Gray will join Mark Price’s staff at Charlotte.  The former UNC-Wilmington assistant has also worked at Western Carolina and Wingate (NC).
  • I have now heard from multiple sources that interviews at Indian Hills CC (IA) are now under way.  Many believe this to be one of the premier JC jobs in the country.  The names that I’ve heard are Hank Plona (assistant coach South Plains), Bob Donewald Jr. (head coach Iowa Energy – D-League), BJ McGinn (head coach Des Moines Area CC), and Norm Parrish (DBO Utah).  I have also heard that former Bradley head coach Geno Ford was involved here, but has pulled out.
  • Yesterday I mentioned that phone interviews had started at the College of New Jersey.  I have heard from a great source that somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 guys will be interviewed by phone, with 3-5 being invited to campus.  Some of the names that I have heard are: Jeff Juron (assistant coach Rochester), Matt Goldsmith (assistant coach Amherst), Tim McLaughlin (assistant coach Wesleyan), Chris McHugh (assistant coach Emory), and John Pelin (assistant coach NYU).  More as I hear it.
