With a lot of coaches out there recruiting the prep schools hard (especially the New England preps), I wanted to pass along a couple of things that I just heard from that level…

• I can confirm that Vermont Academy has hired Connor Merrill as an assistant coach.  He replaces Wade Smith who became the DBO at Miami (OH) last month (Miami (OH) Dirt…).  Merrill is a 2015 graduate of Skidmore College (and 2011 alum of Vermont Academy) who was a first-team all-conference player his senior season.  He was most recently on the staff at DIII Middlebury College (VT).

• I have heard that Sam Markle is now an assistant coach at Cheshire Academy (CT).  The former Stonehill College (MA) captain played overseas last year in the Irish Premier League.  Before heading overseas, he spent time coaching at The Hopkins School (CT).
