Darnell Braswell Joins Men’s Basketball Staff at DeSales

Darnell Braswell has joined the DeSales University basketball staff for the 2015-16 season.  Braswell is a 2010 graduate of DeSales University with a bachelor of science in sports management and was one of the most decorated players to ever play for Coach Coval and DeSales University.

Braswell finished his career as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,745 career points.  He is also the all-time leader in three-pointers made (192), ranks fifth all-time in rebounds (747), 14th all-time in steals (128), and third all-time in double-doubles with 20.

He was named the MAC Freedom Player of the Year twice, the NABC Mid-Atlantic Region Player of the Year twice, the ECAC South Region Player of the twice, and the D3hoops.com Mid-Atlantic Region Player of the Year once.  He was a three-time member of the MAC Freedom All-Conference Team earning Second-Team honors as a sophomore and First-Team honors as a junior and senior and he was a three-time First-Team All-American twice with the NABC and once with DIII News, while also earning Second-Team All-American honors with D3hoops.comn as a senior.

Braswell helped the Bulldogs win two MAC Freedom Championships in 2009 and 2010 and led DeSales to the NCAA “Elite Eight” as a junior and the NCAA “Sweet 16” as a senior.  Following graduation Braswell participated in professional basketball showcases in Las Vegas, NV and Brooklyn, NY.

He began his professional career working for Resources for Human Development in the mental health department for two years before becoming an admissions counselor at DeSales University in July, 2013.

Braswell has coached under Dennis Csensits at Allentown Central Catholic HS from 2012-15 as the JV/Assistant Varsity coach helping Central Catholic win the District 11 AAA title in 2013 and 2014 and advancing as far as the AAA state quarterfinals in 2014 finishing the season with a 29-1 record.
