Just catching up on a bunch of moves from the past few days – some we’ve reported already, some we haven’t…
Alabama: Scott Pospichal is out. He had been an AAU coach before joining Avery Johnson’s staff last year. He will reportedly be replaced by former Arkansas and South Alabama head coach John Pelphrey.
Arizona State – Brian Merritt’s contract will not be renewed. He joined Bobby Hurley’s staff last spring after working for John Lucas Enterprises since 2010.
Arkansas State: Added James Miller from Nebraska-Omaha as an assistant. Miller was at UNO for one season and was the head coach at New Mexico JC before that (77-23 in 3 seasons). Will also hire Colorado State assistant Ross Hodge. He had been with Larry Eustachy at CSU and Southern Miss – was a JC coach at Midland College (TX). New ASU head coach Grant McCasland has also hired Hunter Taylor as the DBO – he had been a GA at Baylor.
Baylor: Kansas State assistant Alvin Brooks III will replace Grant McCasland on Scott Drew’s staff. He had been with Bruce Weber at K-State since 2012.
Cal: Yann Hufnagel has officially resigned. We’ll leave this one alone…
NC State: Hired former Oklahoma State assistant Butch Pierre. He had been a long-time assistant at both OK St. and LSU. He replaces Rob Moxley who assumed the role of Director of Player Personnel .
Oklahoma State: Danny Henderson will join Brad Underwood’s new staff. He had been an assistant at Boise State since 2013, and was a successful HS coach in Texas before that. Earlier in the week, Underwood also added South Carolina assistant Lamont Evans. Evans and Underwood spent five seasons together on the staffs at Kansas State and South Carolina.
Pacific: Will add Colorado State associate head coach Leonard Perry. He had been at CSU for four seasons, and also worked with Larry Eustachy at So. Miss, Utah State, and Iowa State.
Pitt: Kevin Stallings will hire Illinois State assistant Jeremy Ballard. He has also been an assistant at VCU and Tulsa.
