maybe the worst job in the country. No funding, awful location, horrible conference fit (they never should have left the old Mid-Con) and the school is in serious trouble with plunging enrollment and threats of being shut down. The only think they have going for themselves is a nice facility.

Play small college ball, there are a ton of them in the Chicago area. The university is almost closed and they’re playing in a heavy-travel D-1 conference, where they’ll never, ever, ever make the NCAA tourney or if they did, win a game there. Chicago needs a good public university; the country doesn’t need another bad D-1 mid-major basketball program.

they’ere not even mid-major. And the school enrolled 86 freshmen for 2016-17, has a graduation rate of 11%, laid off 900 staff and faculty and is over $350 million in debt and is 90% commuter school. Probably best to shut the athletics program down to save the school.
