Dolan named Director of Basketball Operations at Loyola Chicago

Loyola Chicago head men’s basketball coach Drew Valetine has tabbed Danny Dolan as the program’s director of operations. Dolan returns to Loyola Chicago in the full-time role after serving as a team manager from 2021-25.

“I’m so excited to welcome Danny back! He’s someone that our staff leaned on in his time as a student manager to help us with so many things behind the scenes,” said Valentine. “His quality, exceptional work, and care is what our culture is all about. Danny has built up a fantastic reputation for himself already in this profession, and we’re looking forward to him being back with the program.”

As a manager, Dolan assisted the coaching staff with film, scouting, travel plans, and other operational responsibilities, while also being available to assist the players with extra reps in the gym.

After graduating Loyola, Dolan went on to serve as a graduate assistant with the Iona men’s basketball team. While with the Gales, Dolan assisted with scheduling, analytical breakdowns of opponents, day-to-day and travel operations. He was the go-to guy on the bench for challenges.

Dolan also had a role in managing the team’s student managers and oversaw academic development of players.

“I’m really excited to be joining Coach Valentine and the staff,” said Dolan. “It’s great to be back in Chicago, and I’m thankful to Coach Valentine for the opportunity. I can’t wait to get to work and chase championships.”
