Tulane head men’s basketball coach Ed Conroy announced the addition of Donald Reyes to the staff as the Director of Basketball Operations. Reyes will be responsible for coordinating team travel, managing the budget and directing summer camps.
“Donald has been an asset to our program the last several years, and I am pleased that he will be able to take on a new challenge while staying with our program,” Conroy said. “He will do a great job for us, not only because of his familiarity with our program, but also because he always brings a positive attitude and a very detailed approach to every task.”
Reyes is no stranger to the Tulane program, having worked with the squad and staff over the past three years. The Harvey, Louisiana, native assisted administratively by helping plan promotional events for the team and serving as an academic liaison to the staff over the last few seasons with the Green Wave, while also coordinating summer camp activity. He has been a part of the program through its most recent post season appearances, the Collegeinsider.com Tournament (CIT) in 2012-13 and the College Basketball Invitational (CBI) in 2013-14.
Prior to joining the Tulane family, Reyes served as a Graduate Assistant at Arkansas State while getting his Masters in sport administration. During his time at Arkansas State Reyes served as a video coordinator, assembling scouting reports and also handled film exchange and breakdown.
Following graduation from LSU in 2009, Reyes spent a year as an assistant coach at Frank Phillips College. As a student manager at LSU Reyes assisted the Tigers’ staff on a daily basis throughout practice, while also helping with video and scouting reports. During his time at LSU the Tigers made two NCAA Tournament appearances, 2006 NCAA Final Four and returned to the Tournament in 2009, falling to the eventual national champions.
