Our good friend and NBA Shooting Coach John Townsend demonstrates a great 3-point shooting drill called 42s to work on stationary and off the move 3-point shots.

This drill involves 42 3-point shots in sets of 3. This means players will shoot 3 shots on the move and 3 shots stationary from 7 different spots around the arc.
Coach Townsend was with the Memphis Grizzlies while Vince Carter was on the team. Vince Carter did this drill every pre-game warmup and Coach Townsend learned and did the drill with him around 200 times over the course of two seasons.
Remember to focus on your hand position and your lift as you shoot, keeping the basketball aligned with 90 degree corner of your elbow.
