The Maryland fanbase is desperate for someone who will win big - Pitino can do that. Won National Championships at Kentucky in 1996 and Louisville in 2013 (although the Cardinals title was vacated by the NCAA in 2018).

30/1Kim EnglishHead Coach - George MasonA Baltimore native, is in his first year at George Mason. Drafted by the Pistons out of Missouri in 2012, also worked as an assistant at Tennessee, Colorado, and Tulsa.

40/1Mark SchmidtHead Coach - St. BonaventureWill continue to be on every HM AD's radar after the job he's done with the Bonnies. 2X A-10 COY, and won A-10 titles in 2021 and 2012. Had St. Bona ranked in the pre-season Top 25 this season for the first time in 50 years.
60/1Danny ManningInterim Head Coach - MarylandFormer teammate of ex-Terps head coach Turgeon, struggled in 6 seasons as the HC at Wake Forest (78-111). The #1 pick in the 1988 NBA draft also soent two seasons at Tulsa where he went 38-29. Manning would need a deep run inn the NCAA tourney to improve his odds.
