A couple of things from the Empire State to round out the week…
• Following up on my Clarkson Dirt from earlier today…I can confirm that Rochester assistant Jeff Juron, and Case Western assistant Jeff Gorski are among the final four (and according to some, the two leaders). I am now hearing that Cornell’s Mike Blaine, and Bowdoin’s Brandon Linton did interview, but are not among the final four. I have heard from one source, and confirmed through a great one, that the other two are Stonehill assistant Mike Hauser, and LeMoyne assistant Mike Smiley. Hauser had spent three seasons as an assistant at Clarkson before joining the Stonehill staff this off-season. Smiley, who played at Holy Cross, has DIII experience as an assistant at both Union College and Babson College. I have heard a decision will be made shortly.
• I have confirmed through one of my favorite sources that Albany assistant Jon Iati is in the mix for the vacant Dowling College job. The Albany grad has been on Will Brown’s staff since 2012, and also spent four seasons as the DBO at Quinnipiac before that. Brown is a Dowling grad, and seems to have some juice there. Iati is vying to replace Steve Hayn who became the head coach at United States Merchant Marine Academy in early August.
