Former Trevecca Nazarene University head men’s basketball coach Omar Mance has been hired as the player development assistant with the NBA G League’s Wisconsin Herd (Milwaukee Bucks). Here’s the release from the Herd:
Mance begins his first season with the Herd and brings over 15 years of coaching experience. Mance served as the head coach at Trevecca Nazarene University (2018-23) and as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Rice University, in two separate stints (2007-08; 2017-18). Additionally, Mance spent time at Vanderbilt University as the Director of Recruiting and Player Personnel and as an assistant coach at Liberty University and Army-West Point. Mance played one season at LSU before finishing his career at Rice University where he was a second-team All-WAC selection in 2003 and named the Owls’ MVP in both 2002 and 2003.
The Herd also hired Joe Wolf, Tony Bollier, and Chris Copeland as assistant coaches and Lance Harris as the video coordinator.
