Multiple sources have reported that St. Mary’s (CA) associate head coach Eran Ganot will be named as the next head coach at Hawaii. He would replace Benjy Taylor who served as the interim head coach this past season. Taylor led Hawaii to a 22-13 record this season, and many believed that he would get the job on a permanent basis.
Ganot has served two stints at St. Mary’s for a total of eight years. From 2003 to 2006, he worked at for Randy Bennet’s at SMC then became an assistant at Hawaii (2006-2010). He returned to Bennett’s staff following the 2010 season, and was elevated to the position of associate head coach before this past season.
More on this tomorrow when it is expected to be made official.
