Hendren Tabbed Assistant Basketball Coach at USC Aiken

University of South Carolina Aiken, in conjunction with head men’s basketball coach Mark Vanderslice, is pleased to announce the addition of Corey Hendren to the staff as an assistant coach.

“We are thrilled about the addition of Corey to our program,” Vanderslice stated. “He did a terrific job as the head coach at USC Salkehatchie this past season by guiding the team to one of the best seasons in school history.

“As a South Carolina native, Corey has the ability to identify and connect with a number of recruits regionally. He not only has the reputation for being a tireless worker and proven recruiter, but his energy and experience will help us tremendously moving forward.”

Hendren comes to USC Aiken after spending the last three years as the head coach at the University of South Caorlina Salkehatchie.

The 2014-15 Region X Coach of the Year led his squad to the runner-up position in Reigon X that same season. A two-time district runner-up, Hendren was the 2015 Collentonian Coach of the Year.

During his three seasons with USC Salkehatchie, Hendren recruited and coached 13 players that went on to sign and play at four-year institutions, including three at the Division I level.

Hendren guided the program to an undefeated home mark last season posting the most wins in one season at the institution. During his time there, he recruited and coached a pair of All-Americans and five all-region selections.

Hendren was a four-year standout at Milligan College. He was a three-time academic AAC all-conference selection and graduated with honors in 2014.
