HOT: Dan Hurley Headed to UConn

URI’s Dan Hurley will become the next head basketball coach at UConn according to an ESPN report this morning. The deal is reported to be a six-year pact.

Hurley’s Rams finished this season with a 26-8 record and advanced to the round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament. He compiled a 113-82 in his six seasons at URI, and also spent two seasons as the head coach at Wagner, where he was 38-23.

Also, according to the report, URI assistant Tom Moore will join Hurley at UConn. Moore, the former head coach at Quinnipiac, had previously spent 13 seasons on Jim Calhoun’s staff at UConn.
