HoopDirt.com can confirm that SUNY Maritime head coach Jake Scott will be named as the new head basketball coach at SUNY Cobleskill. He will replace Matt Allen who resigned back in August.

Scott has been the head coach of the Privateers since 2012. He has also worked as an assistant coach at Rochester Institute of Technology, and served as a graduate assistant at VCU.

I have also heard that current SUNY Maritime assistant coach Frank McQuail will take over as the interim head coach for the 2016-17 season, and a search will take place in the spring. McQuail has been on Scott’s staff for the past three seasons, and is a longtime high school coach in the New York area.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
