Florida Gulf Coast University men’s basketball and head coach Pat Chambers announced the promotion of Kevin Hudash to assistant coach Tuesday.
Hudash joined the Eagles as director of operations and name, image and likeness (NIL) in April 2022, following Chambers’ footsteps from Penn State University to the City of Palms. Last season, Hudash was in charge of scouting, analytics and prepared coaching staff reports on opponents and recruits. He also spearheaded FGCU’s first NIL program and partnered with a number of cutting edge companies.
The Green & Blue completed the first season of the Chambers era 17-15 overall, an effort that included the program’s first Gulf Coast Showcase title and the best nonconference winning percentage (76.9 percent, 10-3) in program history.
FGCU also earned a program-record 13 straight wins at Alico Arena, a stretch that began in the 2021-22 season, and snared key nonconference victories at the University of Southern California, Georgia Southern University and St. Bonaventure University.
Before FGCU, Hudash served as a graduate assistant under Chambers for two years and later returned to the Nittany Lions as director of recruiting for the 2020-21 season.
There, he delved into analytics projects for the coaching staff, charting and aggregating data from games and practices. He also completed projects and prepared reports to summarize findings using film and data to support game preparation and student-athlete development.
Hudash spent three seasons with the Nittany Lions before serving as an assistant coach at The Episcopal Academy in Philadelphia and later rejoined Chambers at FGCU.
