Hurley receives contract extension at UConn

UConn director of athletics David Benedict announced today that Head Basketball Coach Dan Hurley and the University agreed to a two-year contract extension through March 31, 2027, with compensation valued at 2,900,000 during the 2021-22 contract year.

The salary structure of the contract remains unchanged from the original agreement.

“During Dan’s introductory press conference almost three years ago, I said that he is the absolute right fit for UConn,” Benedict said.  “The success of the team this year, the culture he has instilled in his program, and the excitement the Huskies have generated throughout UConn Nation make it abundantly clear that Coach Hurley is the right leader of our men’s basketball program for many years to come.”

“I want to thank Dave Benedict, President Katsouleas, and our university leadership for showing confidence in me and acknowledging the progress we’ve made,” Hurley said. “We intend to continue on this upward path as we pursue conference and national championships.”

Hurley is 48-35 (.578) in his three years at UConn, including a 13-6 (10-6 BE) record this season.
