“Coach Elrakabawy did an outstanding job as the Interim Head Coach this past year.” said Raleigh, “As an assistant coach, Coach was part of the most successful seasons in the basketball program’s NCAA Division III history and I am confident that he is the right leader to continue and build on that success going forward.

Prior to this past season, Coach Elrakabawy was the assistant coach for the Schreiner Men’s Basketball program as well as head coach for the junior varsity team for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons. “Schreiner University and the basketball program are well positioned to thrive in the years to come and I am extremely humbled and proud to have the responsibility to continue helping each of our student-athletes realize their potential on and off the floor as the Men’s Basketball coach.” said Elrakabawy, “My two sons, who are Schreiner super fans, have grown up around these players and this moment is very special for our family. I want to thank Director of Athletics Bill Raleigh, Dean of Students Dr. Charlie Hueber, and President Dr. Charlie McCormick for supporting our program and the faith they have shown in our staff’s ability to lead this program forward.”
