I have now heard from two separate sources on the search to replace Mike Bargen at Butler CC (KS).  It sounds like BCC is down to three candidates to take over for Bargen who became an assistant at Bradley earlier this spring.  The finalists are:

• Brian Barone – Former Associate Head Coach UW-Green Bay.   Had spent the past five years under Brian Wardle at UWGB.  He also worked as the DBO/video coordinator at Indiana under Tom Crean for two seasons, and as an assistant at Illinois State.  His father Tony Sr. played collegiately at Duke and was the head coach at Creighton, Texas A&M and for the Memphis Grizzlies.

• Kyle Campbell – Head Coach Dodge City CC (KS). Has compiled 29-33 record in two sesons as the head coach at DCCC. Prior to Dodge City he spent six seasons as an assistant at Coffeyville CC (KS).

• Craig Doty – Head Coach Rock Valley College (IL).  Won NJCAA DIII National Championship in 2014 and NJCAA DIII National Runner up in 2015.  Holds an 80-25 overall record at RVC. Previous stops include University of Sioux Falls, Riverland CC, Central Wyoming College and Morningside College.

I can confirm that all three of these guys interviewed on campus last week.  It sounds like the announcement will be made early next week.
