Description:

Train student-athletes in proper strength training techniques, speed, agility and plyometric techniques as well as flexibility and recovery techniques.  Provide expertise in the area of strength training and physical conditioning as requested by Head Coach.

Work with coaching staffs to develop individualized programs in speed, strength, movement and conditioning for student-athletes; schedule strength and conditioning workouts in cooperation with Head Coach.

Research publications, journals, etc., and attend various clinics and conventions to keep up-to-date on new methods in comprehensive integrated athletic performance.  Must be able to understand, implement and stay current on all technology platforms related to athletic performance.

Promote the philosophy and objectives of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, to include adhering to all departmental policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the SEC and the NCAA

Provide leadership, administrative support and supervision to all persons in the unit for which responsibility has been delegated; assist in supervising graduate assistants and interns in training and professional growth.

Understand and model Athletic Department goals as set forth by the Athletic Director; assist in the planning, evaluation and implementation of all department activities.

May assist with clean-up and maintenance of the weight room/strength facilities; assist in identifying and purchasing of equipment.

Attend various sport practices and competitions.

Must have certification (C.S.C.S. or S.C.C.C.) or be scheduled to obtain certification as soon as possible.

Minimum Qualifications

Required: A Bachelors degree in related/relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred: Master’s degree and previous collegiate level experience.
