Belmont Abbey College, an NCAA Division II institution and member of the Conference Carolinas, invites applications for the current position of Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. The successful candidate for this full-time, twelve-month position will have a background in coaching college basketball. The incumbent will assist the head coach in all aspects of a collegiate Men’s Basketball program, including, but not limited to, recruitment of qualified student-athletes, monitoring academic progress toward degree, budgeting, scheduling, competition and practice preparation, individual and team development, facility maintenance, fundraising, and community activity. The incumbent must fulfill these duties while adhering to all rules, guidelines, and principles as set forth by the NCAA, Conference Carolinas, and Belmont Abbey College.
Preference will be given to those candidates who can demonstrate a vision in the recruitment of student-athletes that fits well with the institution’s mission and character as a distinctively Catholic and Benedictine college that views sport as a means of developing virtue. The minimum qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s Degree as well as previous experience in the sport of Basketball.
