Position: Assistant Coach & Recruiting Coordinator

Description:

Reports to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and assists in the administration of all phases of the
men’s basketball program in accordance with NJCAA Division I Rules and Philosophies.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Recruiting Coordinator is responsible for collecting recruiting strategies for the Men’s
Basketball Program. The major focus of this position will be on the overall branding and
positioning of the Program. Additionally, the individual responsible will must place a specific
emphasis on the recruitment of potential student athletes. Successful candidates will also ensure
that the recruiting process aligns with the current and future needs of the program.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school required; demonstrated ability to organize and develop
world wide recruiting master plan; computer skills a must; knowledge of NJCAA rules and
regulations; proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with
students, fellow employees, program boosters, and the public. As this position requires operation
of Red Devils Basketball Academy’s vehicles and traveling for recruiting purposes, the
possession and maintenance of a Florida driver’s license and acceptable driving record is
required. Skills including verbal and written community, timeliness, personal presentation as
well as an ability to follow instructions are all essential qualities of a good candidate. Relocation
to Daytona Beach is not necessary.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the Head Men’s Basketball Coach in the administration of all aspects of the basketball
program, including but not limited to:
● Represents Red Devils Basketball Academy by adhering to high moral code and
appropriate ethical standards.
● Develops in-home recruiting presentations.
● Demonstrates responsibility for coordinating and creating recruiting logs and calendars.
● Identifies, evaluates and recruits prospective student athletes
● Coordinates on-campus recruiting visits, travel, and activities for prospective student
athletes and guardians.

The Assistant Coach is responsible for working directly with student athletes of the Red Devils Basketball Academy Teams. Red Devils Basketball Academy is one of the top post graduate programs in the State of Florida for the past 15 years. unsel, communicate, and problem solve effectively with student athletes who will be recruited across top junior and four-year colleges across the nation.

  • Provides housing and supervision of all student athletes to ensure timely compliance with expectations.
  • Supports all aspects of creative video production and operations related to practice and competitive game play and social media promotion.
  • Videos all practice and competitive games as directed by the coaching staff. ● Provides on-the-court instruction and skill development.
  • Maintains, tracks, and analyzes individual player and team statistics.
  • Ensures that equipment and facilities are maintained, and performs administrative duties. ● Schedules and supervises practice sessions, maintains training equipment and organizes team events.
  • Coordinates transportation to and from practice and competitive game play and other sanctioned RDA activities.
  • Ensures that all game equipment is in good working condition and in appropriate place before practice and competitive games.
  • Manages student-athletes as directed.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
