Description: | The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking a Director of Operations for Men’s Basketball. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Athletic Director. The mission of the Oregon State University Athletics Department is to provide opportunity to young people and develop leaders through a tradition of academic and athletic achievement in a progressive, inclusive environment of mutual respect. The Director of Operations assists the Head Men’s Basketball Coach with the coordination and direction of every asset of the Men’s Basketball Program. This position assists with student-athlete retention, academic success of the student-athletes, directs and manages all aspects of OSU Men’s Basketball Camps, including budget oversight and staff development. This position manages the overall budget for the Men’s Basketball Program to include team travel and post-season game operations (NCAA or NIT tournaments specifically). This position provides leadership to the basketball coaching staff by assisting with recruiting, opponent analysis, game preparation, practice reviews and evaluations. This position represents the Men’s Basketball Program in public forums. 30% ADMINISTRATIVE 20% ASSISTANT TO HEAD COACH 15% LEADERSHIP / SUPERVISION 15% CAMP COORDINATION 10% TRAVEL 5% FUNDRAISING / EVENTS 5% BUDGETING / FISCAL SUPPORT Bachelor’s degree in field of choice. Three (3) years of experience working with a Division I Men’s Basketball program as a player, coach, or administrator. Proven effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrable organizational skills. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months. |
